one gifset per appearance → the royal wedding exhibition, buckingham palace (22/07/2011)

The Queen, accompanied by the Duchess of Cambridge visited the newly finished 2011 Royal Wedding exhibition at Buckingham Palace, which included a display of the Duchess’ wedding dress and their wedding cake. The Queen disliked the way the dress was displayed without a head, remarking it looked ghastly while Catherine thought it gave it a very “3-D effect”. At the end of the summer exhibition, however, it had brought a record number of visitors into Buckingham Palace and raised over £8 million, which were put into palace renovations and the Duchess’ charity fund.
